Intro/Pleasantries - 30 seconds

Thank you very much to the Preventative Measures Foundation for this incredible honor and for the important and inspiring work you do enhancing and burgeoning underserved communities across the state/nation.

And for giving my husband an excuse to not plan anything for Valentine’s Day!

I am deeply humbled to be honored today alongside such fervent champions for community empowerment and positive (systemic?) change. My sincere thanks and congratulations to each of you.

Reflection on title of award - “Excellence” - 45 seconds

I want to take a moment to reflect on a word in this award’s title: excellence.

Tell a brief story about the struggle to find your footing as a young entrepreneur, and the encouragement you received from a mentor.

Through [MENTOR’S] encouragement, mentorship, and collaboration, I found a path forward that taught me the power of the collective responsibility to do right by one’s neighbors, whether they live down the street or across the globe. This is what I think it means to be excellent, and why I truly believe that everyone on this planet has the capacity for excellence.
